Fall Photography In Tennessee

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is always on my list for fall photography. This year the colors were pretty good, maybe not as good as two years ago when I went but it’s always beautiful.  This shot was taken near Townsend while wading the creeks with my Canon 6D. I just loved the reflection of the colors that created this tunnel of color.

Having Fun With Baseball Portraits

Last weekend I created some cool baseball portraits using some basic lighting and water. The end result was a very dramatic portrait that’s just not seen every day. This setup was fairly simple and I could set this up on almost any location. I’m always looking for new athletes and teams to work with! So if you’re interested in my sports photography feel free to contact me.

Sony A7ii Macro Photography

I recently purchased both the Sony A7ii and the Throttle ND Canon EF adapter. My first test was using the Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens to shoot some macro shots. So far I’m liking the results and I can’t wait to get out and test the built-in variable 10 stop ND Filter in the adapter.

This photograph I edited using the totally awesome Tonality Pro from Macphun. You should head over to their site and definitely give it a try!

Photographing Waterfalls

Photo Share – Laurel Falls

Waterfalls make excellent subjects to photograph. The one thing I love about them is most of them require a hike to get to the actual waterfall. It’s kind of like finding a prize at the end of a maze! Waterfalls are natural beauty and can create beautiful prints to hang in your home or office.

Tip: To create an image like this slow your shutter speed down to around .5 second or longer this can be achieved by the use of ND filters or by photographing them during overcast cloudy days.

I used a setting of F22 without an ND Filter for this shot of Laurel Falls.
