Tybee Island At Sunset

HDR Island Sunset

Just outside of Savannah, GA is Tybee Island which is a small 3 mile island, which happens to be the site where this weeks picture was taken. This was the best sunset during the week I spent on the island, when I processed this photograph I pushed the colors to the extreme side of things.  I like to do this every once in awhile, I can’t help it I just love color! I have another set of brackets of the same sunset taken at a different location and when I process that one I will try and keep it realistic. Kindred Spirit Mailbox On Bird Island,NC

I Saw It In A Magazine

I visited this spot last year while on vacation not knowing what landscapes awaited me on Bird Island. NC. I first assumed birds so the camera I grabbed for the walk was my T1i and my 70-200mm F4L. On the walk down the beach a little girl approached me and asked “Are you going to the mailbox?” I had no idea what she was talking about and politely said no. After walking what seemed to be eternity I could see a lonely flag blowing in the breeze and as I got closer I could see a path going up to this flag pole. Once I got up to the path I noticed two benches and a mailbox which read Kindred Spirit on the side of it, so I backed up into the surf and snapped off a few photographs of the mailbox. One of these photographs I uploaded to Flickr around last August and it got a little bit of interest, that was until I received a call from Guideposts Magazine asking to use the photo for an upcoming article in the April Edition. Sunset Over The Intracoastal

While on vacation a couple weeks back I wanted to capture a beautiful sunset at the beach. I took the first couple of days to look for spots and this one caught my eye, the colors just seem to compliment each other so well.  This is looking over the Intracoastal Waterway just as you cross the bridge over to Sunset Beach, NC. Enjoy! 🙂
