Sony A7ii Macro Photography

I recently purchased both the Sony A7ii and the Throttle ND Canon EF adapter. My first test was using the Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens to shoot some macro shots. So far I’m liking the results and I can’t wait to get out and test the built-in variable 10 stop ND Filter in the adapter.

This photograph I edited using the totally awesome Tonality Pro from Macphun. You should head over to their site and definitely give it a try!

Spring Macro Photography

In the spring I tend to use my Canon 100mm macro lens to death trying to capture every little bloom and bud in sight.  Spring macro photography has to be one of my favorite things about photography! Every year the same plants come and go but the photographs you take each year are always unique. This could be because of the subjects color or size difference each year or maybe you catch one of your subjects in the best light possible. That’s why I like shooting the same flowers and trees year after year.

This is one of my latest edits that I processed using a plugin called Topaz Restyle you can find my review of it here.  I took this shot using a Canon 60D and the Canon 100mm F2.8 Macro Lens handheld in aperture priority mode set at f2.8 and an ISO of 200. This combination of body and lens is an excellent setup for anyone looking to get into macro photography!
